These works mark the debut of the image of a single strand of DNA as a template, which is repeated and built up throughout successive paintings. These paintings celebrate an imposed order. Their tightly coiled forms and repetitive contours of borders and shapes create an overall framework for the picture. The trace-like movements across the canvas lend a regimented and organized approach, even as haphazard drips accumulate and gravity takes over.
